Our 2018 champions have written a University Challenge style quiz to put us through our paces. So do you have what it takes to face the famously tough questions? Do you know your geography from your geometry? Well now you can find out. But only one will win the chance to have their name engraved on the trophy (which has now sadly left its display case in our library and is back with the BBC). The original 24 teams have been whittled down to two – St Edmund Hall, Oxford, and the University of Edinburgh. Now a year later the televised quiz show is once again reaching its final stage. They were up against the fast and fierce Merton College, Oxford, but they managed to pull ahead and keep their lead, winning the final 145-100. This time last year University Challenge fever was running high in College as the St John’s team were gearing up for their first ever appearance in a final. It’s that time of year again – the nation is gearing up to watch the hotly contested University Challenge final.
